The Baltic Sea Action Plan: Scientific support for policies through the lenses of the past lessons and future predictions introduced at the EurOCEAN 2014 conference

EurOcean 2014Professor Jacob Carstensen, Aarhus University, Denmark and the coordinator of the BONUS viable ecosystem project COCOA presented the Baltic Sea case of science in support of policy during the EurOCEAN conference session titled "Regional Seas: to the north and west". The session was chaired by Kaisa Kononen, the Executive Director of BONUS on 8 October 2014, on the second day of EurOCEAN in Rome, Italy.

Baltic Sea faces a tough future

News alert on "Science for Environment Policy, Issue 388: A service from the European Commission" highlights two BONUS+ projects, BALTIC-C and ECOSUPPORT, that indicate through their results how the Baltic Sea is likely to be warmer, lower in oxygen and more acidic in the future.
