Next BONUS call to open in 2014

The BONUS Secretariat announces that the next BONUS call will open in 2014. This call will be a research call and cover a number of themes that will be confirmed in detail closer to the opening date. Also preparations for a second research and innovation call are currently being considered. Further information on BONUS call(s) will be forthcoming in January 2014.

The outcome of the BONUS call 2012 in both domains of viable ecosystem and innovation will be announced in November/December 2013 once the negotiations have been concluded. The successful consortia are set to start implementing their projects in late2013/early 2014 onwards.

Master blueprint ready for future regional actions for a healthier Baltic Sea

The Ministers of the Environment and High-Level Representatives of the nine Baltic coastal countries and the European Union, convened in a HELCOM Meeting in Copenhagen, Denmark on 3 October 2013, reached an agreement on a package of extensive actions and measures.

First-ever deep-drilling expedition to the Baltic Sea launched

The Baltic Sea deep-drilling IODP expedition of two months has reached its half-point. This is the first ever scientific deep-drilling expedition in the Baltic Sea. The expedition involves scientists e.g. from Finland, Sweden, Denmard, Germany, Netherlands, France, UK, Japan, China and USA. Some of the scientists were also previous BONUS+ project partners (e.g. from BONUS BALTIC GAS, HYPER and INFLOW). This represents a valuable continuation of the cooperation started in the BONUS+ programme.
