BONUS in Brief looks into the horizon

Opening of the BONUS call 2012 was a culmination of complex negotiations and preparations laden with unexpected turns. But the result is something to be proud of: BONUS has been able to break through fundamental institutional boundaries as the call includes both basic research and innovation components.

Geopolitical borders are also crossed whilst the call enables participation of scientists in the project consortia from both sides of the EU-Russia border. Joint use of research infrastructures is one of the elements of the projects to be funded. Furthermore, BONUS applies common implementation modalities and is the only transnational programme within the European Research Area that is adopting common funding rules and rates in line with FP7.
