2016 will be a year of clustering

This 14th year of BONUS collaboration will be the busiest one to date in terms of new knowledge and solutions production, says Kaisa Kononen, the Executive Director, BONUS.

Altogether 28 projects are running in parallel and covering 14 (74 %) out of the 19 research and innovation themes identified in the BONUS Strategic Research Agenda. The rest, five yet uncovered themes are currently open for proposals (preregistrations expected by 9 February, proposal submission deadline 10 March). Some projects from the first BONUS call 2012: Innovation will complete their work this year, while all research projects both from the BONUS call 2012 Viable ecosystem and BONUS call 2014 Sustainable ecosystem services  will continue another 2-3 years.

This year the BONUS Secretariat and the Steering Committee are, in particular, encouraging cross project collaboration by facilitating clustering activities. Already four clusters have been emerged…
