Celebrating 10 years of BONUS,
3-4 May 2017, Helsinki

Events scheduled for two days of May marked the 10 years of BONUS since its inception in spring 2007.  Among the total of over 100 participants were members of our community ranging from the BONUS Steering Committee, Advisory Board and Project Coordinators Forum, to the wider researchers community, industry, end-users and other stakeholders.

The events of the first day commenced on the fortress island of Suomenlinna located in front of Helsinki. The programme featured both joint and break-out sessions including a kick-off for the new ‘BONUS call 2015: Blue Baltic’ projects.

In the evening of Wednesday, 3 May 2017, the BONUS community took a trip down the BONUS memory lane in Wanha Satama and celebrated also the evolution of Baltic Sea science from ‘marine science, fisheries science and oceanography’ to truly interdisciplinary, targeted, problem oriented research and innovation effort.

In Wanha Satama also convened on 4 May the joint 6th BONUS Forum and triple meeting of BONUS Project Coordinators, Steering Committee and Advisory Board members as well as other key stakeholders.
