Regional collaborations with relevance to the sustainability
From 2007, adopted by nine Baltic Sea coastal states under the auspices of the Baltic Marine Environment Protection Commission (HELCOM). HELCOM BSAP aims at establishing good environmental status in the Baltic Sea by 2021.
Visions and Strategies around the Baltic Sea (VASAB)
From 1992, an intergovernmental forum for cooperation of ministers responsible for spatial planning and development around the Baltic Sea. VASAB cooperates closely with HELCOM, for example, through the joint HELCOM-VASAB Working Group on Maritime Spatial Planning that was created in 2010.
