BONUS ANNUAL CONFERENCE 2010

Scientists of the BONUS+ projects will gather for BONUS Conference 2010 to discuss the results of the first year of projects' implementation. Thematic sessions will include:
  • Theme 1: Building the knowledge-based governance and management of the Baltic Sea. (Generic issues of communicating knowledge to the policy level, Coping with implementation deficits, Cross-disciplinary analysis of environmental risks in Baltic Sea);
  • Theme 2: Understanding processes and assessing the status of the Baltic Sea. (Abiotic setting, Functioning of biotic communities, Measuring ecosystem health);
  • Theme 3: A system of catchment – coast – sea continuum; and
  • Theme 4: Assessing future development of the Baltic Sea and uncertainties of projections. (Including modelling as a collective learning tool).
The conference will feature several invited lectures by authorities on topics relevant to BONUS.

Conference, including the coffee breaks and conference dinner on 20 January 2010, is free of charge.

A quota of single and double rooms has been reserved at the Reval Hotel Lietuva until 30.11.2009. Leter registration will be confirmed upon availability. DEADLINE FOR ABSTRACTS 20.11.2009

Please send the abstract as a word document with a total length (including title, authors, affiliation and main text body) NOT EXCEEDING 3500 characters including spaces.

Abstracts will be reviewed by the Conference Programme Committee. The decision will be sent on 27.11.2009 at the latest.
